Do I need a RADIUS server to use Billman? +

No. Billman connects directly to your MikroTik router via the RouterOS API or an OpenVPN tunnel. No RADIUS server is required.

Which routers does Billman support? +

Billman currently supports MikroTik routers running RouterOS. Support for additional vendors is on the roadmap.

How does M-Pesa auto-collection work? +

Clients pay via M-Pesa using their PPPoE username as the account reference. Billman matches the payment to the client automatically, settles the invoice, and reactivates their internet — all without manual intervention.

Is my data safe? Can other ISPs see my clients? +

No. Billman is fully multi-tenant. Each ISP has a completely isolated environment. Your clients, invoices, routers and staff are never visible to other ISPs on the platform.

What happens when I exceed 50 clients on the free plan? +

You'll be prompted to upgrade to the Starter plan. Your existing clients and data are never affected — upgrading simply unlocks higher limits and additional features.

Can I import my existing clients from another system? +

Yes. Billman supports CSV import for clients. Contact us at dev@attic.ke and we can assist with migration from other platforms.

Does Billman work for hotspot/WiFi ISPs? +

Yes. Billman includes a branded hotspot captive portal where WiFi clients can select packages and pay via M-Pesa to get instant internet access.
